💬 Potential Interview Questions

  1. How do you break down a large product feature into shippable increments using React?
Start with MVP planning, build reusable components, implement feature toggles, prioritize user value delivery, and release iteratively with feedback loops.

  2. What are best practices you follow for frontend performance optimization in React?
Use code splitting, lazy loading, memoization (React.memo, useMemo), avoid prop drilling, debounce inputs, and monitor with tools like Lighthouse and Web Vitals.

  3. How do you approach collaboration with backend engineers and designers on complex features?
Align early on data contracts and UI requirements, share API specs or mocks, hold review sessions, and iterate on feedback throughout implementation.

  4. Describe a time you helped improve code quality through peer reviews.
[Example] Introduced a component structure guide, identified duplicated logic during reviews, refactored shared utilities, and mentored junior developers on testing patterns.

  5. How do you manage and maintain a scalable Redux store in a growing SaaS app?
Use feature-based slices, normalize state, apply middleware (like Redux Thunk or Saga), follow naming conventions, and abstract shared selectors/actions.

  6. What monitoring tools or techniques do you use to maintain frontend reliability at scale?
Use Sentry for error tracking, Google Analytics or custom logging for UX issues, performance tracing with Lighthouse or Datadog, and browser-based dev tools.

  7. How do you ensure consistent styling and responsive design across a large application?
Use a design system or component library, apply CSS modules or styled-components, and test responsiveness with media queries and device simulation.

  8. Describe your process for implementing a major refactor in a React codebase.
Assess impact, write migration plan, test with unit and snapshot tests, introduce changes incrementally, and document updates for the team.

  9. How do you handle deeply nested component hierarchies or prop drilling issues in React?
Use context providers, composition patterns, or state management like Redux to lift state and improve maintainability.

  10. What makes a successful remote team from a senior engineer’s perspective?
Clear async communication, detailed PR reviews, shared documentation, proactive updates, mentoring via calls or pair programming, and a strong feedback culture.
