🎯 Who is this job for?
This role is suitable for a Middle to Senior-level Mobile/UI/UX Engineer with approximately 4–7+ years of professional experience in front-end and mobile application development. Required skills include JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React/Vue/Angular, React Native/Flutter/Swift/Kotlin, Figma, responsive UI/UX, accessibility, REST APIs, Git, testing, debugging, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development. The candidate should be familiar with designing wireframes and prototypes, building reusable components and mobile-first interfaces, integrating APIs, optimizing performance, troubleshooting, and owning features from concept through deployment.
💬 Potential Interview Questions
How would you architect a responsive, mobile-first application using React and TypeScript?
I would use reusable, strongly typed components organized by feature, with clear separation between presentation, state management, API services, and business logic. I would apply responsive layouts, accessibility standards, code splitting, and consistent design-system primitives from the beginning.
How would you decide between React Native, Flutter, and native iOS or Android development?
I would evaluate the required platform capabilities, performance needs, team expertise, code-sharing goals, and long-term maintenance costs. React Native or Flutter is appropriate for many shared product experiences, while native development may be preferable for platform-specific functionality or demanding performance requirements.
How would you design a reusable UI component library and shared design system?
I would define design tokens for colors, typography, spacing, sizing, and states, then implement accessible components with consistent APIs and documentation. Components should be composable, tested across breakpoints, and maintained alongside Figma specifications to keep design and implementation aligned.
How would you integrate a front-end or mobile application with RESTful APIs?
I would create a typed API service layer that handles request construction, serialization, errors, retries, loading states, and authentication consistently. I would also validate responses, manage caching where appropriate, and ensure that sensitive data is not exposed in logs or client storage.
How would you implement authentication securely in a mobile application?
I would use the organization’s approved identity provider and standards such as OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect, with short-lived access tokens and secure refresh-token handling. Tokens should be stored using platform-secure storage, while authorization checks, logout behavior, session expiration, and deep-link security are handled explicitly.
What techniques would you use to improve front-end and mobile application performance?
I would profile real user flows, then address issues such as unnecessary re-renders, large bundles, unoptimized images, excessive network requests, and slow list rendering. Techniques include memoization when justified, lazy loading, virtualization, caching, efficient state boundaries, and measuring improvements with performance monitoring tools.
How do you ensure that an interface is accessible and usable across devices?
I would follow WCAG principles by using semantic elements, keyboard and screen-reader support, sufficient color contrast, visible focus states, accessible labels, and appropriate touch targets. I would test with automated tools as well as real assistive technologies and multiple viewport sizes.
How would you test a feature from design through production deployment?
I would combine design review, unit tests, component tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests for critical workflows. The CI/CD pipeline should enforce linting, type checking, automated tests, build validation, and controlled deployment with monitoring and rollback capability.
How would you troubleshoot a mobile application issue reported by students?
I would reproduce the issue using the reported device, operating system, account state, network conditions, and application version. I would inspect logs and crash reports, isolate the root cause, add a regression test, release a verified fix, and monitor the result after deployment.
How would you use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality and security?
I would use AI for prototyping, code suggestions, test generation, debugging ideas, and documentation, but treat all generated output as untrusted code requiring review. I would verify correctness, performance, accessibility, licensing implications, privacy, and security through tests, static analysis, and established engineering standards.
