🎯 Who is this job for?

Level: Senior Frontend Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience building production web applications with React and TypeScript.

Required skills: React hooks, component architecture, state management, complex forms, REST API integration, unit and integration testing, debugging, Git, code reviews, CI/CD, design systems, and clear asynchronous communication.

This role suits someone experienced in owning features end to end, from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production verification, including work on large shared codebases, dashboards, configuration workflows, and reliable API-driven interfaces.

💬 Potential Interview Questions

How would you design a React and TypeScript component for a complex configuration form with conditional fields?

I would separate the form into reusable components, define strong TypeScript models, and manage field state and validation consistently. Conditional behavior should be derived from explicit form state, with clear loading, error, and submission states.

How do you decide between local component state, Context, and a dedicated state-management library?

I use local state for isolated UI concerns, Context for stable cross-cutting data such as configuration or user context, and a state-management library when multiple features need predictable shared state, caching, or complex update flows.

How would you integrate a React application with a REST API that supports a multi-step workflow?

I would define typed request and response models, isolate API calls in a service layer, and model each workflow state explicitly. The UI should handle loading, validation, retries, partial failures, and user-safe error messages without coupling components directly to transport details.

What is your approach to testing a React feature with both unit and integration tests?

I unit-test isolated logic such as validation, transformations, and custom hooks, then use integration tests to verify user interactions, API behavior, loading states, and error handling across component boundaries. Tests should reflect realistic user workflows rather than implementation details.

How do you prevent unnecessary re-renders in a large React application?

I first identify the actual bottleneck using profiling tools, then improve component boundaries, state locality, stable props, and selector usage. Memoization with React.memo, useMemo, or useCallback should be applied selectively rather than by default.

How would you handle API errors, stale data, and race conditions in a configuration dashboard?

I would track request status explicitly, cancel or ignore obsolete requests, and ensure responses are associated with the latest relevant input or resource version. The interface should distinguish validation errors, authorization failures, transient failures, and unexpected server errors.

What practices help you contribute safely to a large shared frontend codebase?

I follow existing architecture and design-system conventions, keep changes focused, add regression tests, and document non-obvious decisions. Small pull requests, clear interfaces, and early communication about risks reduce integration problems.

How would you design reusable components within an established design system?

I would preserve the design system’s visual and accessibility conventions while exposing composable, well-typed APIs. Components should support common use cases without becoming overly configurable, and their behavior should be covered by unit and integration tests.

How do you debug a defect that could originate in the UI, state management, or backend API?

I reproduce the issue and trace the data flow from user action through component state, network requests, response mapping, and rendering. Browser developer tools, logs, tests, and API inspection help isolate the failing layer before applying a targeted fix.

How do you use GenAI-assisted coding tools responsibly in production development?

I use them to accelerate exploration, boilerplate, or test generation, but I independently review the code for correctness, security, maintainability, and consistency with the codebase. I run the relevant tests, linting, type checks, and manual verification before submitting the change.
